1:1 Support
1:1 Counselling with Arnika
A supportive, confidential space to talk things through, understand yourself more deeply and feel a little less alone in what you're navigating.
You don't need to be at breaking point to reach out for support.
You might be feeling anxious or overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you don't quite understand, going through a period of change, struggling with your confidence or simply feeling like something isn't quite right.
Counselling gives you a space that's completely yours, somewhere you can slow things down, talk openly and begin making sense of what you're experiencing.
Is this you?
-
You may feel like your mind never switches off or may have a sense that something bad is going to happen. Thinking about all the things that could go wrong, and can’t seem to shake those thoughts?
-
You find yourself going in circles with your thoughts and questioning every decision you make. Or maybe replaying situations and conversations in your mind, thinking about how you could’ve said things differently.
-
You might feel disconnected from yourself. Unsure of what you need, what you feel, or how to trust yourself. There’s a sense of being a bit lost or not fully connected to who you are.
-
You feel like your mind and body is always “on” and you can never fully relax. You might feel overwhelmed or easily triggered, and it feels impossible to move into a state of calm.
-
You can be hard on yourself or feel like you’re not “enough.” You might be seeking reassurance outside of yourself, or maybe just feeling a little unsure as to who you are.

Hi, I’m Arny,
Hi, I’m Arnika Ruegg, a registered counsellor, yoga teacher and founder of Sydney Girls Connect.
My passion for this work comes from my own experience. For years, anxiety and stress shaped so much of my life. After losing my mum as a child, fear and control became my normal, and I spent a long time feeling overwhelmed, stuck and disconnected from myself.
Over time, through a lot of learning, unlearning and rebuilding, I began to understand my anxiety differently and slowly found more peace and trust in myself. That journey is a big part of why I now want to support other women in doing the same.
I went on to create Sydney Girls Connect, a community built around connection and helping women feel less alone. As the community grew, I started to see a need for something deeper too — a space where women could talk openly about what they were going through, understand themselves better and feel genuinely supported.
That’s why I now offer 1:1 counselling alongside the community.
My approach brings together my counselling training, psychology, yoga, lived experience and years of creating spaces for women to feel seen and understood. Whether you’re feeling anxious, stuck, going through change or simply need someone to talk to, this is a space where we can work through it together and help you find your own way forward.
The Process
While every client’s journey is unique, our work together often involves the below process.
01
Building awareness
We begin by creating a safe space where you can start to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences openly. This includes understanding what’s currently coming up for you, particularly around anxiety or wherever you’re seeking support for.
02
Understanding patterns
As we continue, we begin to explore deeper patterns by looking at past experiences and subconscious beliefs that may be shaping how you feel and respond today. There is absolutely no shame here, we are purely exploring and noticing patterns in order to know how to move foward.
03
Develop the relationship within
Through this awareness, we start to shift how you relate to your thoughts and emotions.
Rather than feeling overwhelmed or controlled by our emotions/thoughts, we begin to create a healthier relationship with them. It is also at this stage where we explore healthier coping strategies in order to make long lasting change.
04
Create grounded change
Finally, we begin to integrate these healthy changes into your life. This is where we see the real change. Begin to feel more connected to yourself, more regulated in your emotions and thoughts. This stage is all about feeling safe in your mind and body. From this safety, we begin to explore your authenticity and set goals for your future. We’ll be able to move thorugh life with clarity rather than anxiety.
My Approach
My approach to counselling is warm, supportive and centred around helping you understand yourself more deeply.
I work primarily from a psychodynamic approach, which means we'll explore the experiences, patterns and beliefs that may be influencing how you feel and respond today.
Sometimes the anxiety, self-doubt or challenges we're experiencing in the present are connected to things we haven't fully understood or processed.
Together, we can begin bringing awareness to those patterns so you can better understand yourself, your reactions and what you might need moving forward.
I also integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which can help you develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than feeling controlled by them.
There's no one-size-fits-all way of doing counselling. We'll work at a pace that feels right for you and focus on what's most important to you.
Pricing
We believe counselling should be accessible and flexible, which is why we offer a range of session packages to suit different needs and budgets.
All new clients begin with a complimentary 10-minute Consulation Call to ensure we're the right fit for one another.
Following the call, you're welcome to book a single session or purchase a session package. If you begin with a single session and later decide to upgrade to a package, the amount already paid for your individual session will be credited toward the package price.

10 Min | Free
Before investing in counselling, it's important that we both feel we're the right fit. This free 10 minute call gives you an opportunity to share what has brought you here, ask any questions, indentify what support you're looking for and get a feel for how I work. Finding a counsellor you click with is so important for your healing journey, and this conversation helps ensure you feel comfortable moving forward.

50 Min | $135
For those seeking flexibility, individual sessions can be booked as needed. This option may be suitable if you'd like to experience a counselling session before committing to a package or if you're looking for occasional support around a specific concern. While a single session can provide valuable insight and practical strategies, meaningful and lasting change often benefits from ongoing support over time. For this reason, many clients choose one of the counselling packages below after their initial consultation.
-
3 sessions | $355
Save $50This package is a supportive starting point for clients wanting short-term guidance and a chance to begin exploring patterns, challenges, and practical tools in more depth. Three sessions allow us to move beyond the surface level and create some continuity between sessions, helping insights translate into everyday life. This option suits those navigating a specific life challenge, transition, or period of stress while still wanting flexibility. It offers a gentle introduction to the counselling process without a long-term commitment.
-
5 sessions | $550
Save $125This package offers the opportunity to build momentum and explore challenges with greater depth and consistency. Across five sessions, we'll have time to understand patterns, develop practical strategies, and reflect on progress as new insights emerge. For many clients, this provides enough continuity to move beyond immediate concerns and begin creating meaningful change. If you're unsure where to start, this is often the package I recommend.
-
10 sessions | $1,050
Save $300This package is designed for those seeking longer-term support and a deeper therapeutic process. Ten sessions allow us to work more comprehensively through long-standing patterns, emotional challenges, relationship dynamics, or periods of significant personal transformation. The extended timeframe provides greater opportunity for reflection, integration, and lasting change while maintaining consistent support throughout the process. This option is best suited to clients who already feel ready to commit to a more ongoing counselling journey.
